Our forebears had fought against our enemies and turned out as victors of democracy. That is what I call a national heroistic movement that pushed people in one country to act as one -- to work with the same goal and belief. Sacrificing and putting one's self at risk, setting aside the fact that it may trigger a bloody war between one's fellowmen with contrasting conviction, is such an utmost bravery likewise a sad truth. Why do we have to fight each other if all we want is a peaceful country? Why do we need to slaughter each other and act with savagery if all we need is a good government? Is there a reason why we need to kill the women in order to achieve a new political blood to run in the system? With all the worth it may serve, I believe there is no justice having to waste one human life for the benefit and enrichment of other people. How much more wasting the lives of more than 50 Filipino people? Do you think it is worth anybody's political ambition? I gravely despise that.
Women and children, young and vulnerable as they are, have a place in whichever country they reside, especially in the Philippines whether in Luzon, Visayas, or even in the remote areas in Mindanao. No man has the right in the righteous eyes of God to liquidate the innocents. He may be so powerful but it is superficial in the moral aspect and is utterly irrelevant.
Whichever perspective we may view it, Philippines has been plagued with numbers of disastrous events and distress which do not help the country but instead put us to a dragging economy, great loss, and major misfortune. There is no room for blame and pointing of fingers because what we need now is for us to bring it on! Not only as citizens of this country but as a loving family members in each of our respective families. If we do not act now, how will we protect our brothers and sisters against harm? How will we be able to provide bright future to our sons and daughters? Will our dreams be realized? If we let this continue, do we still have the right to dream? Pity without empathy is just like letting things to find destruction of its own. This destruction is within reach but we can prevent this to happen if we think, act, speak, and listen as one. The magic word is UNITY. Unity to achieve peace and harmony as one nation and one blood.
